EMILY HELENA WEEDEN, 70 ROCKFORD - Emily Helena Weeden, 70, of Rockford peacefully went to be with her Jesus Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, with her friends by her side. Emily was born Feb. 28, 1942, in Richland Center, Wis. Emily's sweet spirit always shined through with her love of friends, animals and her Jesus. She had a giggle that was contagious and always made you smile. She made friends wherever she went. Her best friend and roommate of more than 35 years was Cindy Wells; together, they were two peas in a pod, always depending on each other. Emily's circle of friends that were her family included Nan Statten, Joanne Brehens, Candy Long, Gail Johnson, Lauri and Doug Beach, the Perez family, Sheila Lupton, Barb Bourbon, Yvonne and Dakota Alexander and so many more. She also loved her cats, Bella and Elliot. Thank you also to Dina, Sally and Melissa for always being there when we needed you. Very important to her were her friends at Brightside, Illuminators Sunday school class at RockfordFirst, Para-transit and the folks at the East State Wal-Mart/McDonald's where she'd spend hours. A very special thank you to the staff/friends at Provena St. Anne Center, SwedishAmerican Hospital and Heart Center, and Dr. Lewinski for years of great care. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, with Pastor Ross Miley officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, Emily would want memorials to be sent to Lifescape Brightside or P.A.W.S. To extend condolences, visit www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
