Emitte Gibson

GIBSON, Mr. Emitte-age 59, of Flint, passed away Friday, December 6, 2019 at his residence.  A graveside service at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI took place on December 17, 2019.

Mr. Emitte Gibson “Emi” was born December 24, 1959 in Leland, Mississippi, the son of James and Cloe T. Gibson.

Emitte attended Flint Public Schools and served in the United States Army.  He was previously employed with General Motors. Emi loved to smile and had an infectious laugh.  He also loved to barbeque, he enjoyed sports and listening to music.  He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Emitte Gibson leaves to cherish his memory: loving wife, Anita Palmer Gibson of Flint, MI; 5 children, Michael (Lindsy) Palmer of Bay City, MI, Serita Palmer, Emitte Gibson Jr., Dequanna Gibson, and Isaiah Gibson all of Flint, MI; 11 grandchildren, Stephon, Azhia, Kendrick, Grace, Ava, Aden all of Bay City, MI, Ronald Jr., Andre, Niomi, Jeremiah, and Kai’von all of Flint, MI; 4 brothers, Edward Richardson of Cincinnati, OH, James Jr., Larry, and Jerry Gibson all of Flint, MI; sister, Doris Gibson of Flint Township; nephews, Jesse Mays Jr. of Lansing, MI, Jermaine Mays and Marquise Gibson of Flint, MI, James Gibson III of CA, and Brookton Scott of NC; special great-great nephew, Ja’Coby Mays; nieces, Lakeisha Loyd of Dallas, TX, Nicole Mays, Mateisa, Shenika, Caira, and Kendra Gibson, all of Flint, MI; uncles, Paul Richardson Sr., and Emmett Richardson Sr. of Flint, MI; aunts, Queen Marshall and Minnie Aubrey of Flint, MI, Bessie Richardson of MS, Odessa Richardson of St. Louis, MO, and Priscilla Richardson of Toledo, OH; a host of cousins including special cousins, Doris “Shell” Evans and Larry Scott; mother-in-law, Daisy Mae Palmer-Boone of Flint, MI; sisters-in-law, Tangie Booker of SC, Rose Dunn, Crystal (Shawn) McCassel both of Flint, MI; brothers-in-law, Charles (Belinda) Palmer of Flint, MI and Sean (Jolyn) Palmer of Kalamazoo, MI; and a host of friends. 

Emitte was preceded in death by: father, James Gibson; mother, Cloe T. Gibson; brother, Carrie Lee Gibson; sister, Pearlie May Gibson; nephews, Dequann Gibson and Jerrell Mays; special uncles, Ezell Evans and Percy Richardson; special aunts, Louella Evans and Mattie Gibson; and special cousin, Timothy Evans.
