Obituary for Emma Jane Echohawk (1922 - 2008)
Emma Jane Echohawk, 85, beloved and devoted mother, passed away peacefully on the evening of January 14, 2008, in Louisville, Colorado. Jane was born on September 27, 1922 in Maries County, Missouri. She made her home in Farmington, New Mexico for over 50 years before moving to Colorado to be near her family.

She was an exemplary mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her children will remember their mother for the wonderful home that she created and for the unwavering standards she set which they carry with them always. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will remember her delight in them and her love for them.

She is survived by her children Mary Adamson (Lynn), Lucille Echohawk, John Echohawk (Kathy), Fred Echohawk (Barbara), Larry Echohawk (Terry), and her brother Dorsey Conrad (Jeanetta). She is also survived by her grandchildren Autumn, Chris, Sarah, Travis, Tobin, Tyson, Jenny, Paul, Mark, Matthew, Emily, Michael, Crystal and 33 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Josephine Conrad, husband of many years, Ernest Echohawk, her son, Tom Echohawk, her granddaughter Jewel, her great grandchildren Jordan, Brielle and Hagen, and her sister Sylvia Crowder and brother David Conrad.

Our family's deepest gratitude to Mom's guardian angels and dear friends, Ed and Donna Risenhover, for their constant friendship and loving care for so many years in Farmington.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 17, 2008 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, Farmington, NM. Services will be held Friday, January 18, 2008 at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 400 W. Apache, Farmington, NM. Interment will be at Memory Gardens.
