Ena F. COOPER Ena F. Cooper died peacefully surrounded by family on January28, 2012. She was 81 years old. The daughter of Alfred and Louise Frank, Ena was born in Hamburg, Germany on February 9, 1930. To all those who know her, Ena was an inspiration in perseverance, courage and positive thinking. At age 13 she escaped the holocaust through contacts who guided her to a group of nuns in a cloister in Northern Austria along the Danube River. In 1948 she met James P. Cooper who was playing drums in a Big Band at the Paladium in Los Angeles. They entered into a long distance romance for the next six years before getting married on Sept. 11, 1956. Ena then moved to Seattle where her husband had started the family business, Cooper Builders, and lived atop Queen Anne Hill. Ena was a wonderful homemaker, and loved to cook traditional German food for family and friends. At 45 years old she contracted Multiple Sclerosis and through the ordeal for the next 35 years remained positive, never complaining about the disease that racked her body. Ena loved the ocean, and it was the vacations in the Caribbean where she experienced 40 cruises over the years. She will be greatly missed by her husband, James P. Cooper, and daughter, Ena K. Cooper, son-in-law Rodger Stonefelt and grand-daughter, Bree. Daughters-in-heart,Lori and Paula. Dedicated to my mother- a TRUE SURVIVOR: The mother that loves, cares, helps, worries, encourages, works hard, sacrifices, is here only for you, raised you to be who you are, what you are, is there- for this mother is everywhere, is super-woman, is mother of all mothers. "Ich liebe dich sehr viel meine mutte" Bep. A Memorial will be held at Noon, Thursday, February 3, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church on Capitol Hill. Remembrances may be made to the MS Society.
