Enid L. McNeil age 101, of Long Beach, CA passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022.  Born in New York and later moved to Jamaica, WI from 1940 through 1945. Enid married her husband, Kenneth McNeil from Jamaica and settled in the Bronx, NY. Enid worked many years for New York Life Insurance Company where she retired and moved to the family’s vacation home in Hyannis, MA.


In 1998 she and her husband moved to Long Beach, California to be with her only daughter and family.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Kenneth, sister Mae and brothers David and Harry.  She is survived by daughter Cheryl McNeil Cormier, son-in-law, Kevin Cormier, and granddaughters, Corin, Kaelyn, and Justine. She was a proud great-grandmother of Jaren, Nasir, Cali Ganaway, and Bronze Williams.  She is also mourned by her sister Sylvia Blair, brother-in-law Mortimor McNeil, sister-in-law Joan Shirley and many nieces, nephews, and their families.


Enid enjoyed cruising and traveling with her husband, cooking, knitting, and needlepoint. She was a member of the Cape Cod Branch of the NAACP.


Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Friday, January 27th for viewing at 8:30 am followed by a funeral mass at 9:00 am at All Souls Mortuary 4400 Cherry Ave, Long Beach, CA 90807.


The inurnment will be private. Repast immediately following at All Souls Mortuary.
