Enrique Rodrigo Agorio After a two-year battle with colon cancer and as a survivor of Hodgkin's Disease, Enrique Rodrigo Agorio passed away on January 19, 2011 in Portland, Oregon. Just two weeks shy of his 50th birthday, Enrique was a true Renaissance man, an artist; a musician; a voracious reader; and a lover of pool, the outdoors, photography and traveling the world. Enrique was a physicist who held several patents and worked as a Sr. Systems Engineer at FEI Company. Enrique is survived by his loving mother and father, Inger and Enrique Sr.; his four siblings Alvaro, Alex, Laura and Yvonne; beautiful twin sons Otto and Enzo; and his loving and devoted companion Petya. To our dearest Enrique, love transcends life, we will love you forever and you will always be with us.

We knew and loved your Mother and Father. We were there when you were born. We remember him boasting: "I am Enrique, father of son, Enrique" What a sad ending to such a wonderful and promising life! We mourn with all your family.

My deepest sympathies to the Agorio family and particularly to Otto and Enzo. Your father was very proud of both of you and spoke of you with a gleam in his eye in our hallway conversations.

I met Enrique at San Mateo H.S. in 1977. I had moved from Spokane, WA with my family to Foster City. Enrique was one of the first people to reach out to me and get to know me. It was the first day of school in the Fall of 1977. He was simply happy to get to know everyone. He didn't care what side of the block or which group you were in. And for me, the new kid in school, I was happy to spend a bit of time under his wing. He was gregarious, very confident, and yes, perhaps a bit cocky. I remember that first day in Social Studies class. He was brilliant and fearless and a joy to be around. My life was extremely busy back then and I was involved in so many different activities both inside and outside school: Water Polo and Swim Team with Coach Holman, Math Club with Mrs. Peters and more. I didn't spend a tremendous amount of time with Enrique during my two years at SMHS, but he made a deep and lasting impression on me as I know he made lasting impressions on so many family members, friends and acquaintances.

I reached out to him on Facebook about a year ago shortly after the San Mateo H.S 30th reunion. I was anxious to catch up with some of the folks that I didn't see at the reunion. At first he did not respond and so I reached out again. I didn't know about his health issues and I wouldn't have expected him to share that with me after all of the years that had passed since High School. I was just happy that I had a chance to catch up after all of these years.

It was a blessing to spend a very short time in his Facebook circle after so many years. I know that this loss is a huge one for all of his family and friends, but it seems that the life that he lived was truly a celebration. Please accept my condolences.

I've few regrets and the one I do have is never taking the time to sit down and write you the long letter you requested. I just read that you passed away from a 2yr 'bout with colon cancer, and I can tell you now that the read stopped me in my tracks and brought tears to my eyes.

Over the years you are one of the people whom when I think of brings a smile to my face. You were accepting of all and a joy to be around. I am so sorry for the missed opportunity to really reconnect with you. I'll remember you and remind myself to make time.

I hope that your resting in peace as I send love to you and your family.

My condolences to the Agorio family. Rest in Peace Enrique Agorio Jr. I once was told by your father how great of a person you were. Dr. Agorio was my pediatrician, and how he loved children...and how he loved his own children. My sincere sympathy.
