Eric Bevan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 9, 2002.
Eric A. Bevan  Eric Adam Bevan was killed in a tragic accident Wednesday, November 6, 2002, while doing what he loved most: helping others.  He was born February 28, 1980 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Larry and Deanne Bevan. Eric was called a "little Sunshine Boy" for good reason. He was not only a happy person, but he radiated it, passing it to others. He will be remembered for his laugh, his love for the outdoors and sunsets, and for his ability to fix cars. He was ever mindful of others and was the first person to lend a helping hand. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in North Carolina. He returned and married his sweetheart on August 17, 2001 in the Bountiful Temple. At the time of his passing, he was enrolled at the SLCC and expecting joyously-his first son. He lived to serve, he is loved by every life he touched. One paragraph will never do justice to the man Eric was, but above and beyond all else he had a testimony of Jesus Christ as his savior, redeemer, and friend.  Surviving family includes his wife Dianne Harps Bevan and their expected child, his great-grandmother, Lula Whitehead; his grandparents, Lloyd and Jerry Bingham, his parents, Larry and Deanne of Tooele, Ut. his siblings, Gary and Angie (Ashby) Bevan, Brandon and Mellissa Stubbs, David and Randi (Smith) Bevan, Ryan and Lori (Bryan) Bevan, Jared Bevan, Curtis Bevan, Stevi Bevan, Jacob Bevan, Kimberly Bevan, Chris Bevan, Danie Bevan; his mother and father-in-law, Daniel and Bonny Harps of West Jordan, four brothers in-law and eight sisters in-law; 15 nieces and nephews; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins; and an entire community of honorary family members.  Services will be held Saturday Nov. 9, 2002 at the Lakeview Ward Building located at 2200 Churchwood Drive in Pine Canyon, Ut. at 1 p.m. There will be viewing Saturday 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. prior to the services at the Church. In lieu of floral offerings, donations may be made to the Eric Bevan fund at Mountain America Credit Union of Tooele.

I just wanted to let know the sorrow I feel for you and your family. Eric was in my Bio Lab at SLCC and was a member of our group for experiments. I did not know him well, but felt that he would be a friendly face to see through-out the coming years of schooling. We feel great sorrow for the loss of his presence. God bless and be with all who mourn him.

I did not really know Eric but he seems very nice and was always there to help someone out and show how much he enjoyed being around others. He will greatly be missed for his kind words and appreciation for others.

We knew Eric as Elder Bevan. It was indeed a pleasure to know Elder Bevan as a missionary and to have him in our home. We are so sorry to hear about his untimely death. May you have peace during this time of sorrow.
