Eric Blitz Obituary

Palm Desert, California - Eric was born September 15, 1940 to William and Evelyn Blitz in Portland, Oregon. He passed away peacefully with his family at his side on December 16, 2022, in Palm Desert, California.
An all star athlete at Portland's Lincoln High, he was awarded a baseball scholarship to Stanford University and graduated in 1961 with a BS degree in Economics. He earned his Masters Degree from Stanford Business School in 1963.
Eric worked most of his life in Tacoma, where he was president of SEB, Inc., a multifamily housing development company, building many projects in Western Washington. He retired in 2006 to relocate to Vashon Island and his winter home in Palm Desert.
Eric celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary with his wife Marilyn (Wilson) Blitz on June 16th. He was the loving and devoted father of William, Lisa (Brougham) and Peter, proud grandfather of Jacob, Isabel, Eric, Luke and Oliver, and brother of Martha Matcovich (deceased) and John Herbert Blitz.
His was a life full of good friends both in business and in his favorite pastimes of tennis and golf, serving on the Board of Directors of Tacoma Lown and Tennis Club, Fircrest Golf Club, and Avondale Golf Club in Palm Desert, California. His loyalty, humor and generosity will long be remembered by all who knew him.

I had the good fortune to be Eric's golf, poker & fishing partner for 40 years. I'll never forget that old E. B. grin, especially the look on his face when he would spank us playing poker. His buddies really loved him (as well as "The Poop & Hank). Rest in peace you three. Love, Moe Manning
