ERIC CHRISTOPHER DECKER

Eric Christopher Decker, 50, of Muncie, In and formerly of Simsbury, Conneticut passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Born in Neptune, NJ, son of Rick Decker and Kathleen (Cullen) Decker. Eric was raised in New Jersey and Connecticut and graduated from Simsbury High School in 1993. Eric loved trucks from an early age and graduated from Diesel Automotive School in Indiana and has worked for the last 15 years at General Truck Sales as a Certified Master Technician. Eric enjoyed working on diesel engines and one of his favorite memories was working on Michael Andretti's mobile home.

Eric loved being outdoors, hiking at McCormicks Creek State Park, working in his yard and in his vegetable garden and being the captain on his pontoon. Eric loved helping people, whether they be family, friends or strangers. It was not uncommon to find Eric FaceTiming his sisters to help them with their car needs, always with a smile on his face and kindness in his heart. Eric was loved by so many and never hesitated to offer advice or a helping hand.

In addition to his loving parents he leaves behind two sisters; Meghan Bentley, husband Steven and Kristen Somerville, husband Taylor; nephews Sam and Cooper and nieces Victoria and Neala. Eric will by sadly missed by his friend of 30 years, Libby and many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

Eric enjoyed making many special memories in Muncie with his best friend Andrea Wright by his side. He was loved and will be forever missed by his grandsons Elijahh and Skylar. He will be thought of everyday as the most awesome bonus dad by his daughters Morgan, Paige and McKenzie. He was a proud fur dad and gave Dayton, August and Sylvia the most loving home during their time and will be missed by Ruby and Biscuit. Never forgetting his infectious laugh and smile are his best friends, Bryon Collins, Bill Rhinehart and Bill Griffin.

Eric received a Mass of Christian Burial at Simsbury Cemetery, 16 Plank Hill Rd, Simsbury, CT on August 24th. A celebration of Life will receive friends at Prairie Creek Reservoir Saturday, September 6th from 7-9 pm at the campgrounds community building; 5901 S Co Rd 575 E Selma, IN.
