Eric Matheson Obituary
Eric honorably served in the Navy, where his commitment to excellence was evident. He dedicated over 30 years to Sears Roebuck, working both in Crosstown Memphis and Atlanta, Georgia, before retiring. Eric was a devout member of Kingsway Christian Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Glenda Matheson; his children, Sean Matheson, Catherine Corkran (Kevin), and Emily Winn (Bob); Grandchildren, Walker Winn, Lilly Winn, Colby Corkran and many nieces and nephews. Eric was predeceased by his parents, Reinhold and Barbara Matheson, and his sister, Barbara Wilson.
The family would like to thank family friend, Allen Battle, for being a good companion to Eric during his illness and accompanying him to many doctor appointments.
A short service (as Eric would have preferred), and a reception with refreshments, will be held at Kingsway Christian Church on Saturday, November 2nd at 11:00am. The family suggests that contributions in Eric's memory be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or Kingsway Christian Church.
Eric's legacy of kindness, dedication, faith, and love for his family will forever be cherished by those who knew him.

Each time I saw Eric, whether that be at the family home in Marietta or at the soccer fields when Emily and I were teammates for many years, he always had a wonderful smile that lit up the place! His genuine kindness, warmth and love will be a legacy to last many lifetimes!!!

Eric and I coached a daughter of each of us in youth soccer in the very early 1980's. Perhaps it was more fun for he and I than ever for the girls.
