Eric Peters Obituary
Eric was born on May 5, 1971, in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in Richmond and attended Richmond High School, earning a B.A. in English from Michigan State University. After working in the entertainment industry for several years in Hollywood, California, Eric went on to earn his Master's Degree in Information Technology from Arizona State University. Eric was passionate about making a difference and was proud to be part of the management team of Vitalant, a non-profit blood bank.
A devoted Spartan, Eric loved to watch MSU football; he also cheered on the Detroit Red Wings, the Arizona Coyotes, and the Arizona Cardinals. Eric loved traveling and explored AZ on local day trips with his wife. Although an avid reader and astronomy fan, his latest hobbies were making hot sauce and perfecting his master BBQ/smoker skills.
Eric is loved and survived by the love of his life, his wife, April Peters; parents Robert and Judith Peters, and mother-in-law Toni Redding, all currently residing in AZ; stepson Stephen Crane of Seattle, WA; sister Cyndi Peters along with nieces Samantha, Rachel, and Elizabeth Flower, and brother-in-law Joel Flower, all of MI; and brother-in-law John Redding of Philadelphia, PA. Eric loved and spoiled his fur babies, two cats named Whisky and Bellini. Eric was predeceased by his father-in-law John Redding, sister-in-law Lisa Redding, and beloved Gandalf the cat.
Although this brutal disease took Eric from the world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for all who crossed his path.
There will be a Celebration of Life in Eric's honor on Friday, December 17th, from 1 PM – 5 PM at Eagle Mountain Golf Club in Fountain Hills, Arizona.
In place of flowers, please consider donations of platelets, blood, funds, or time to Vitalant in honor or memory of Eric J. Peters.

It's very sad that I just found out about my cousin's death. We used to see the family quite a bit when we were kids. He was a fun little guy. Since my dad Alden Roberts died in 05,we haven't seen anyone. Aunt Dorothy Hardy was the last person I saw before her death. I'm very sorry Judy, Bob, and Cynthia. Love, Roberta

It is hard to imagine that it has been a year since the loss of Eric. Those of us who had the pleasure of working with him will always remember him as one of the most helpful, gracious and knowledgeable individuals in our organization. It is my hope that you have found some measure of peace over the past year and that it helps to know that Eric is not forgotten.

Please know that many of Eric's colleagues send their heartfelt condolences to all of his friends and family during this very difficult time. Eric was a pleasure to work with and always seemed able to find elegant solutions for our operational needs. He will be greatly missed at both Vitalant and Creative Testing Solutions.

Our prayers are with you and your family in this time of sorrow. Eric was always very kind, was always ready to help and his dedication to helping make sure projects succeed was truly admirable. I remember when he first started working in Vitalant and having worked with him on some projects since, saw how professional he was and at the same time a pleasure to work with. He will truly be missed.
