Erica Lisa Leopold

Erica Lisa Leopold, age 61, passed peacefully on December 17, 2022 in Andover, MA surrounded by loved ones. Services were held December 21, 2022 in Forest Hills, NY. Friends and family honored her at a beautiful luncheon on Travers Island, NY.

Erica was dynamic and full of passion, her presence always felt when entering a room. She was a regular performer in New York Cabarets in the 90's, recorded a terrific CD, and was nominated by the Manhattan Assoc. of Cabarets for Best Female Singer Off-Broadway. Erica became passionate about skincare, launching her own skincare line, Charisma - The NY Post wrote, a facial by Erica Leopold is a "triple whammy dermal infusion".

At the height of Covid Erica went back to school to study Pediatric Occupational Therapy. She achieved straight A's, but began suffering from headaches, confusion, and stuttering. She took a leave of absence, thinking perhaps the pressure of going back to college at 60 was too much... At Brigham and Women's Hospital in MA, Erica was diagnosed with Glioblastoma brain cancer. Erica felt good knowing that she had not bitten off more than she could chew. The tragic news - not even Harvard Neurosurgeons can beat Glioblastoma. She fought valiantly, never complained, and was always smiling.

Erica will be greatly missed by her friends and family. She resided in Lenox, MA, and was a graduate of Hamilton College (NY) 1983 and Weston High School (CT) 1978. Erica had a magical connection with horses, loved the morning ritual at horse tracks, and was deeply concerned for the plight of injured jockeys - Donations in memory of Erica can be made to the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (pdjf.org).
