Erik Anthony Lopez

Erik Anthony Lopez, 35, of Rankin, passed away suddenly on April 1st after a lengthy health battle. He was born on September 19, 1987 to Gilbert Lopez and Patsy Pruett in San Angelo, Texas. He loved serving his community and wore many hats. As a young kid, he could be seen running down the street to help out the Rankin EMS/Fire Department, where he first became an honorary member and started a career he was so avidly passionate about. He received his EMT certification at South Plains College. He served with several departments including Lubbock Aid, Ralls, Slaton, and Post EMS, EMT at UMC ER, and Volunteered with the American Red Cross. He was known for taking initiative on new opportunities such as owning his own roadside service business, becoming an ordained minister and website designer. He was a very adventurous person who never turned down the chance to try something new. If you were ever looking for him or couldn't reach him, he was probably out on the lake with a fishing rod in hand teaching someone a thing or two. He served as a Boy Scout Leader in Twentynine Palms, CA, military housing landscaper in Marietta, GA and newest endeavor, Data Mining and Bitcoin Technician Supervisor with Exacore in Rankin, TX. He sure loved his Momo aka his "little lady" and his beloved companion Bella Donna. He is survived by his son Gavin Eli, his best friend Gabby, his daughters Ariana and Heavyne (Sam), his father Gilbert Lopez Jr (Jessica), his dad Junior Armendarez (Danielle), siblings, Jamie Lopez, Stephen Lopez and Armando Armendarez III (Carolina), and nieces Tiana, Marleigh and Brooklyn. Numerous tias, tios, and cousins as well as grandparents Modesta Pruett, Jimmy and Bertha Davis, Armando and Betty Armendarez and his Madrina, Vicki Abalos. Celebration of life will be held on April 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rankin Park Building in Rankin with a reception to follow for family and friends. Flowers are under the arrangement of Venegas Flower Shop in McCamey, Tx. Erik had a laugh and smile to remember! He never knew a stranger. He had a wealth of knowledge and loved to share it.
