Erin Anderson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 16, 2024.
On Monday, September 16, 2024, Erin Leigh Anderson, loving daughter and sister, passed away at the age of 37 after a lifelong battle with Rett's Syndrome.

Erin was born on July 13, 1987 to Dean and Amy Anderson (Rafferty) in Livonia, MI and lived in Livonia her entire life. Growing up, Erin loved to rollerblade, play catch, and read magazines. Erin also enjoyed making crafts at school and spending time with her mom.

Erin always loved animals, especially cats, and would mimic meowing noises to show her family when she was happy. Erin was an avid fan of entertainment and musicals, and some of her favorite movies/tv shows were Hairspray, Moana, Fraggle Rock, and The Partridge Family.

Erin's favorite food in the entire world was McDonald's, specifically their shakes. Those who knew Erin knew to be careful saying the word "McDonald's" around her, as she would immediately expect to have fries and a shake to eat. Erin's smile was infectious. She would light up a room with both her smile and her favorite sayings such as "you bike it" (her way of saying "i like it") and "mom".

Erin was preceded in death by her father, Dean, grandmother Barbara Rafferty, and grandfather Frederick Rafferty. She is survived by her mother, Amy, brother Airman Matthew Anderson, sister Rachel LaBerge (Anderson), brother-in-law Alex LaBerge, and nephew Frederick LaBerge.

There will not be a funeral service at this time. Donations can be made to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation (https://www.rettsyndrome.org/donate/) and condolences can be set to Amy Anderson at 611 N. Newburgh Rd, Westland, MI 48185 or Rachel LaBerge at 32471 Wisconsin Street, Livonia, MI 48150.

I only met Erin once, but remember her infectious smile. She found joy in simple things. I am positive Jesus was waiting for her with open arms. Heaven is a happy joyful place today!
