Erin Lewis Francis

Erin Camille Lewis Francis was born on February 5, 1975, in Beaumont, Texas, to the union of Laura Lewis and the late Paul C. Lewis. She happily joined her sister and three brothers to complete Paul and Laura’s family. Erin accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was baptized at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Beaumont, Texas, on May 4, 1975.

Erin attended school in Beaumont, Texas, proudly graduating Cum Laude from Central Senior High School Class of 1993. She chose to further her education at Lamar University, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BAAS) in 2002. Upon graduation, Erin taught in the Port Arthur Independent School District before pursuing a career in the legal field. With over 26 years of experience at some of the top firms in the country, Erin advanced from a Legal Assistant at Provost Umphrey Law Firm L.L.P. to a Legal Secretary at Porter Hedges L.L.P. However, she found her true passion when she founded The Career Empress, where she was driven to help others succeed in their career choices and businesses.

Erin’s greatest accomplishment was raising her two sons, Jacob and Bryce, who she shared with her former spouse, Shannon Francis. They were their mother’s greatest joy. She enjoyed watching her sons play sports, traveling, watching movies together, capturing their milestones with pictures and videos, and putting smiles on their faces. Erin later found love again with her fiancé, Malex Wilson, III. Together they enjoyed spending time with their blended family.

Erin was known for her vibrant personality, infectious smile, and loving nature. She lived life to the fullest and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone she met. She cherished her family, especially her mother, siblings, nieces, and nephews. Erin was the “fun” Aunt that never hesitated to have a house full of children. She looked forward to celebrating holidays, graduations, or family cookouts. She could often be found DJing the music, on the dance floor, or taking pictures with everyone. Erin also enjoyed participating in trail rides with her fiancé, where she quickly made many new friends and relationships that she cherished.

Erin departed this life and entered her eternal rest on December 30, 2022, surrounded by loved ones in Houston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her father, Paul C. Lewis, brother Paul B. Lewis, paternal grandparents, Valera and Florence Lewis, and maternal grandparents, Horace and Hester Alexander.

Left with broken hearts and cherished memories are her children, Brian Jacob Francis and Bryce Christian Francis of Pearland, Texas; mother, Laura Lewis of Beaumont, Texas; fiancé, Malex Wilson III; son and daughter, Malex Wilson, IV and Abrianna Wilson of Pearland, Texas; sister, Michelle Murry, and brothers, Mark Alexander (Rhonda), Marlon Lewis (Karen) all of Beaumont, Texas; nephews, Devante Alexander (Bethany) of Beaumont, Texas, Dan Moore, Jr. of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; nieces, Samaya Murry and Bria Moore both of Beaumont, Texas; godmother, Carla Ravare; godfather, Michael Alexander both of Beaumont, Texas; former spouse, Shannon Francis (Michelle) of Rosharon, Texas and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends that she considered family.
