Marjorie Frazee Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 8 to May 10, 2020.
Marjorie G. Frazee May 6, 2020 Marjorie Gorman Frazee, lifelong resident of Fabius, passed away peacefully at age 92 on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at St. Joseph's Hospital, where her family was allowed to be with her. Born on November 30, 1927 to John T. and Marjorie Lane Gorman, she was a member of the Fabius High School Class of 1945. Following her graduation from Central City Business Institute, she married James F. Frazee, her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, on August 9, 1946. They were named queen and king of their senior ball and continued treating one another as such throughout their 51 wonderful years of marriage. Together they owned and operated a dairy farm and had 8 children and countless happy times before James' untimely death in 1998. Although devastated by her enormous loss, Marge remained the steadfast, loving matriarch of her family, which grew to include her children's spouses, her grandchildren and their spouses, and her great-grandchildren. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring Nana, and loyal friend. Marjorie was a most faithful communicant of St. James Church in Cazenovia, where she served as a Council Member and Eucharistic Minister for several years. Always fun-loving, she organized the first learn-to-ski lessons for the Fabius-Pompey youth community at Toggenberg when her children were young. She enjoyed the family camp on DeRuyter Lake, where she made certain her children as well as their friends and cousins learned to swim, sail, and water ski. Margie always took great pleasure welcoming and nurturing her growing family, and made each person feel uniquely significant. She was a great listener and confidant who provided much laughter and merriment over the years with her wonderful sense of humor and adventure. She delighted audiences with stories from her past, and always found room for yet another grandchild on her lap even when it was already overflowing with happy little ones. Marjorie was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, James F. Frazee; her son, Mark J. Frazee; her granddaughter, Michelle M. Frazee; her grandson, Baby Frazee; and her sister, Mary G. Merriman. She is survived by 7 children, John (Sofia) Frazee of Fabius, Robert (Julianne) Frazee of St. Petersburg, Fl., Kathleen (Paul) Brown of Cazenovia, Russell (Cindy) of Fairlee, Vt., Patrick (Colleen) Frazee of Fabius, Richard (Donna) Frazee of Pensacola, Fl., Mary (Thomas) Chartrand of DeRuyter; a sister, Jean King Myatt of E. Syracuse; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Marjorie's family thanks the wonderful staff at Manlius Brookdale where Marge made many friends during her enjoyable time there. The family is also very grateful for the kind and loving care provided by her long time physician, Dr Robert Cupelo, whom Marge often referred to as "Father Cupelo." Due to Covid regulations, a private funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 11 at Immaculate Conception Church in Pompey, where Marjorie and James were married. The Rev. James Carey will officiate. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Pompey. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Heart Foundation.
