Erna Dunn Obituary
Richmond - Erna N. "Helena" Dunn, age 92, of Richmond, Indiana, died Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at Golden Living Center-Golden Rule.
Helena was born on October 1, 1928, in Austria, to Franz Koonshitz and Katrina Ortner Nothburger. She became a U.S. citizen in 1968 and had lived in Richmond since the 1980s. Helena retired as a nurse from Reid Hospital. Following retirement, Helena served as a nanny for the Wells family for over 12 years. She was the most caring and giving person you could ever meet and always went out of her way to make sure everyone was okay.
Survivors include her "special daughter," Annie Wells of Richmond; longtime friend, Patricia Wells of Richmond; and other "family" members, David (Angel) Mohler and Tonya Mohler-Johnson and their families, all of Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her father; mother, Katrina Oberhouser; sisters; and brothers.
Funeral service for Erna N. "Helena" Dunn will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at the Earlham Memorial Mausoleum with Fr. Sengole T. Gnanaraj officiating. Please plan to wear your own mask in the mausoleum. Entombment will be in the Earlham Memorial Mausoleum. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
Memorial contributions may be made to a local VFW, police, or fire organization.
