Ernest Gini Obituary
August 3, 1950 - May 12, 2022
Sacramento, California - Ernest Joseph Gini, born in Stockton California, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Ernie was the loving husband of 48 years to Susan, father to Mario (Shajuan) and Mark (Alyson), and Papa to Mason and Malcolm.
Son of the late Angelo and Angelina, Ernie was preceded in death by his brothers Donald and Gerald (Sharon), and father-in-law Sydney Kass. He is survived by mother-in-law Mary Kass, sisters-in-law Marsha Kass (Hank Spacone) and Barbara Gini, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
A hero and inspiration to all that knew him, Ernie had many accomplishments throughout his life. He was the co-founder of Macias, Gini and Co. (now known as MGO), one of the largest accounting firms in California. As an avid runner, he accomplished the amazing feat of running the American River 50 Mile Endurance Run for his 50th birthday. Soon after, his running career was cut short by an automobile accident that left him a quadriplegic. Even after the accident, his positive attitude was infectious. He continued to work and live life to the fullest, traveling and cruising with family as much as he could.
A "Celebration of Life" event will be held at a later date. Donations can be made in Ernie's name to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

Ernie was a great mentor for me and encouraged me many years ago to open my own CPA practice. The success I have had is in large part due to the rigorous training I received from the man I referred to as "The Shark." God bless you Ernie and my very best wishes to the family.

Ernie was a great man and CPA who witnessed how one can live a full live despite a tragic event that changes how that life is lived.
May perpetual light shine upon his soul and may he enjoy eternal rest.
