Ernest Melzer

MELZER, Ernest February 9, 1923 ~ March 12, 2007 On March 12 Ernest Melzer of Mannville passed away at the age of 84 years at the Vermilion Health Centre after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by brothers Kurt (Hilda), Joe (Ilse); sisters Lorna Thomson, Bertha (Fred) Biermann and numerous nieces and nephews. Ernest was predeceased by his parents, Ernst and Emma; Stepfather Chris Rieper; sister Lottie Ostafichuk; brothers Fred and Hans; nieces Sheila Ostafichuk, Joyce(Ostafichuk) Barabash, nephews, Daryl Melzer, Randy Barabash, Charlie Barabash, and Gary Berkley, and brothers-in-law, Ed Thomson, Bill Ostafichuk. Cremation has taken place.A private family service will be held at a later date. The family expresses their sincere thanks to Dr. Roos, Nurses and Staff at the Vermilion Health Centre for the special care and compassion Ernest and our family received in his time of need.
