Ernest Murray Obituary
Ernest graduated from Kempsville High School and furthered his education at the University of Maryland. He then served honorably in the Army for 22 years, dedicating two decades of his life to serving his country with distinction.
Following his military career, Ernest worked as a software developer, where he applied his sharp intellect and problem-solving skills. Outside of his professional life, he was an avid runner, often seen on morning jogs around his neighborhood, reflecting his discipline and dedication.
Ernest is survived by his loving wife, Elena Murray; his sister, Dee Murray; his brother, James Murray; his aunt, June Dudley; and a host of friends and relatives who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Waff Murray, and father, James R. Murray.
Visitation will be on 11/6/24, 5pm-7pm at Holloman Brown - Kempsville, Virginia Beach. A graveside service will be held on 11/7/2024 at 1pm. at Forest Lawn in Norfolk, VA, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory. A reception will follow at 2:30pm at the Founders Inn, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, a cause close to Ernest's heart. Ernest's legacy of generosity and service will continue to inspire those who knew him.
