Jacksonville - Ernest Thomas Reed Sr., 87, of Jacksonville, FL passed away at Baptist Downtown on September 02, 2025. He was born on December 22, 1937, in Hilliard, FL to the late Jay L. Reed Sr. and Pauline Murray Reed. He retired as a Masonry Contractor and was a member of the Masonry Contractor Association of America.

He is predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years Joyce Ellen Reed; sister-in-law, Mable Reed; brothers-in-law, Woody West and James Thompson.

He is survived by two sons: Tommy (Kim) Reed of Fernandina Beach and Danny (Lisa) Reed of Callahan; seven grandchildren: Danielle Marie Reed of Callahan, Brandi Reed of Jacksonville, Justin Siler of St. Johns, Katie Siler of St. Johns, Kelly Vega of Longmont, CO, J.D. Vega of Longmont, CO., and Erica Modzelewski of South Carolina; four great-grandchildren: Owen Siler of St. Johns, Emma Siler of St. Johns, Merrick Thomas Marquez of Callahan and Ellie Modzelewski of South Carolina; two brothers: Leslie Reed of Hilliard and Henry (Sue) Reed of Carrabelle; three sisters: Wannell Thompson of Folkston, Patsy West of Hilliard, and Peggie (Johnny) Rewis of Hilliard; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Boulougne with Rev. Ken Barney officiating. Burial will take place at Mill Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Bryant, Robert Davis, Missy Godbold, Waylon Rewis, Mike Thompson, and Dale Clark. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brain Brown, Larry Day, Kenny Edwards, and Lance Sisk. The family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral services at the church.
