ERNEST EDWARD STRINGFELLOW, 84, passed away January 14, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer. If a man's life can be measured by the care he shows for his family during his lifetime, then the Life of Ernest Stringfellow was nothing short of Olympian. Ernest was born November 10, 1917, in Marshall, Texas. He attended Baylor University where he obtained a degree in Business Management. Ernest married Janie Marye Donaldson in 1940. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and returned to experience an illustrious career with Shell Chemical Company in Houston, Texas, retiring after 35+ years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Price Stringfellow of Marshall, and his brother Samuel Price Stringfellow, Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janie Stringfellow, his children, Mary Lynn Chaplin and husband Jim, Susan Eddins, and Lisa Anne Stringfellow; his grandchildren, Jonathan Edward Hauck and wife Dee Ann, Jason Tyron Hauck, Tiffany Chaplin and Austin Ryon Eddins; and his great grandchildren Jacob Sanders and Sweet and Precious Baby Hailee Hauck. The family will depart Sullivan's Funeral Home in Marshall at 12:30 p.m. for a graveside service which will be held at 1:00 p.m.,Wednesday, January 16, at Old Oakwood Cemetery in Jefferson, Texas. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Association or the American Heart Association. The Sullivan Family Funeral Home 903-938-7777
