Ernest TURNER Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province from Jul. 10 to Jul. 11, 2010.

TURNER, Ernest (Ernie) Allan July 1, 1935 - July 7, 2010 It is with deep sorrow and sadness we announce the passing of Ernie Turner after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband, father and grandfather, he was predeceased by son Ernie, parents Les and Laura, and sister Norma. Ernie is survived by loving wife Betty, son Gary, daughter Karen and grandchildren Nicolas and Kaela. Also survived by brother Jim (Ruth) Turner and sisters Lois (Bob) Gubbe and Grace Andrew. Known for his love of family and friends, Ernie was a quiet man with a gentle soul whose inner strength and sense of humour carried him through life's ups and downs. Never afraid to tell it like it is and though not a people person, he still enjoyed a friendly conversation with anyone he met. Known for his love of animals and the outdoors, his greatest pleasure was being out on the lake fishing and enjoying the quiet scenery and wildlife. He took great pride in sharing nature and teaching all of us how to enjoy and respect all that nature gave us. He will be greatly missed and always remembered. There will be a gathering of family and friends on July 13, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Valley View Memorial Gardens (Arbor Reception Center) 14660 - 72nd Avenue, Surrey, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA or CNIB are appreciated.
