Ernest Waller's bass drum foot hit SO HARD that it could move u if u stood in front of it..it sounded like a huge gun shot..he was a great musician but a great black man as well..

Will miss so much. I enjoyed our journey over the years sharing the same stage. You rest now my brother. God got you now.

He played from 1972 to 1977.The original members were Hugo Thompson,(Guitar)Phillip Thompson(Bass) Gordon Thompson,(Trumpet)Alfred Quarles(Trumpet)Milton Quarles(Trumpet)Wayne Street(Trombone)Joe Taylor(Tenorsax/flute),Richard Harmon(keys)James Moseley(keys)Nadino Sayles(percussions)and Ronald'Shine'Smith(Lead vocals). Ernest was a perfectionist when it came to his drums.His motto was "Practice makes perfect".After leaving the band Ernest continued to be an advocate for all

To the family of Ernest please accept my condolences. I met Ernest at Haywood's barber and salon; he loves Dallas Cowboys and we would speak about the games. Ernest was full of joy, laughter and kind. I will miss seeing him in the shop but I know God have him in a better place.

We offer our deepest and sincere sympathy on the passing of Ernest. May God surround

WHEN I WAS 17 I MOVED INTO SOME APARTMENTS ON CHAMBERLAYNE AVE AND I MET MY DEAR FRIEND EARNEST.ME HIM AND WAYNE WIGGINS EVERY SUNDAY WOULD GET INTO HIS BLACK CADILLAC AND WE WOULD GO TO SOMEONES HOUSE TO WATCH FOOTBALL,EVERY SUNDAY FOR YEARS AND YRS AND IF I WASN'T GOING AROUND THE HALL TO HIS PLACE TO WATCH FOOTBALL HE WAS AT MY PLACE.WE ALWAYS COULD TALK ABOUT ANYTHING.RAY RAY HIS BROTHER WHO IS ALSO DEAR TO MY HEART,TO YOU AND THE FAMILY AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOST AND MINE.WE SPOKE ALMOST EVERY WEEK SOMETIMES TWICE A WEEK.DALLAS COWBOY DIEHARD FAN ME AND HIM.I LOVE HIM LIKE A BIG BROTHER.HE CALLED ME HIS BABYBOY.MY DEAR FRIEND YOU WILL BE MISSED ALWAYS ESPECIALLY IN MY LIFE.YOU MEANT SO MUCH TO ME AND YOU DID HAIR BETTER THEN ANYONE I HAVE EVER KNOWN.AM SO PROUD TO HAVE KNOWN YOU SO MUCH OF MY LIFE.REST IN PEACE MY DEAR FRIEND.I WILL ALWAYS AS WE USE TO SAY "HAVE YOUR BACK AND YOU HAVE MINE"THRER WILL ALWAYS BE A PLACE IN MY HEART FOR YOU.GONE!!!
