Ernest Waller's bass drum foot hit SO HARD that it could move u if u stood in front of it..it sounded like a huge gun shot..he was a great musician but a great black man as well..

From the members of Standing Room Only Band:Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Ernest Waller. Ernest was the 1st drummerforSRO. He played from 1972 to 1977.The original members were Hugo Thompson,(Guitar)Phillip Thompson(Bass) Gordon Thompson,(Trumpet)Alfred Quarles(Trumpet)Milton Quarles(Trumpet)Wayne Street(Trombone)Joe Taylor(Tenorsax/flute),Richard Harmon(keys)James Moseley(keys)Nadino Sayles(percussions)and Ronald'Shine'Smith(Lead vocals). Ernest was a perfectionist when it came to his drums.His motto was "Practice makes perfect".After leaving the band Ernest continued to be an advocate for all
SRO members
until the band stopped performing in 2004.we all(46 members of Standing Room Only)will miss Ernest.Rest in peace our brother. We love you

To the family of Ernest please accept my condolences. I met Ernest at Haywood's barber and salon; he loves Dallas Cowboys and we would speak about the games. Ernest was full of joy, laughter and kind. I will miss seeing him in the shop but I know God have him in a better place.
