I loved Earnie like one of my NewYork uncles. He accepted us all and all of us in the Shapiro clan adored him... he always made all of us feel as if we knew him for our entire life. My dad Mel could not stop talking about their adventures to the baseball games... I think that might have been one of Mel´s most cherished experiences of his life. I´ll miss him for his friendship and his warmth and love. I´m so sorry he´s no longer with us, but he is awaiting a reunion with us all. I truly believe that. Janice- my heart goes out to you. I know how deeply connected you both were/are and soulmates never leave us for long. There are few truly magical relationships I´ve know in my life and yours was the best. I know he was your heart and our hearts are with you now. Love to Earnie, you and your family. Dana & Lisa

So many memories. I was just one of many car salesman and the after sale guy at Central Ave., Chrysler Plymouth. A friend of mine had an extra ticket for a World Series game between the Dodgers and the Yankees. I asked Ernie if he wanted to go with us and he said "sure" the three of us sat in the balcony and Ernie bought us beers and hotdog and we all enjoyed the game. The next day someone asked me if I had gone to the game with Ernie the night before. When I told him we did, he said you know Ernie could´ve gone to the game and sat anywhere he wanted including the owner´s box but he didn´t wanna let me down. I have many more stories, but it´s hard to type through my tears right now.

I am so sorry for your loss. Ernie was Janis' loving and devoted husband. Janis and Ernie shared a beautiful 25 years together creating a life not only in New York but in Tucson. Ernie enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and he always remembered his family and friends. Our prayers are with Janis and your family. Rest in peace, Ernie

My history with Ernie goes back to the mid 70s when he was a rep for Chrysler Corporation and became a partner at Central Ave Chrysler with my dad Herb Grant. My dad and Ernie had a special relationship and I was truly honored to become part of that team and a partner with Ernie the remainder of his life. Ernie was always like a big brother to me and I will miss him terribly.

Ernie was a cherished friend to both Randy and I. We have so many wonderful memories of travel, Salerno Sundays, parties, and charity events with Janis and him. Finding good restaurants wherever we were was always one of his talents and we were lucky to be along! He was truly a wonderful man, a delightful and faithful friend and a joy to be with anytime, anywhere. We will miss him and hold our memories of him in our hearts forever.

Ernie touched the lives of so many. His kindness, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In moments like these, we are reminded of the quiet power of a photograph. A single image can carry a lifetime of memories. Capturing not just a smile or a glance, but the spirit of the person behind it.
A photo outlives us.
It holds our stories, our laughter, our love, long after we've left this world.
To Ernie: thank you for the light you brought to this world. You will never be forgotten.
