Herman L. Rathert

Herman L. "Dutch" Rathert 96, of Elwood, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Community Parkview Nursing Home. He was born on September 1, 1911 in Indianapolis. His parents were Albert and Lena (Schillinger) Rathert. He is survived by his son, Ron Rathert (Carlotta) of Elwood; 2 grandsons, Ron Rathert, Jr. (Rebecca) of Alexandria and Brian Rathert of Noblesville; and 2 great grandchildren, Hudson and Kiera. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn C. Rathert. Mr. Rathert served his country in the United States Army. He worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Company for 48 years. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 31 at Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel (481 W. Main St.) Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service on Monday.
