Shirley J. Criger

Shirley Jean Criger was born to Thomas and Edith Mawson on March 23, 1927 in Moberly, Missouri. She entered into the presence of her Lord February 16, 2014 in Pueblo, Co. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Joe B. King. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, choir member, soloist, VBS director, church clerk and served on the education committee and advisory board. Shirley was a graduate of St. Luke's Hospital Cadet Nurse Corp, Kansas City, MO, and furthered her education at John Hopkins University, St. Thomas Moore and University of Northern Colorado. She was employed at Parkview Episcopal Hospital, Southern Colorado State College and Colorado State Hospital as a registered nurse, B.S. in Behavioral Science, M.S. Psychology, Counseling and Guidance. She served as past president of District 4 Nurses Association. Shirley is survived by her husband, Arthur Dale Criger; two sons, Victor (Rosie) Criger and David (Pam) Criger; five grandsons; and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral service, 10 a.m Monday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Liberty Baptist Church. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens.
