Feb. 23, 1920 - April 1, 2015 Ethel Lewis Byrd Baggett, a native of Mobile, Alabama passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015. She was 95 years old. She worked at Gayfers Department Store for 27 years, and was a member of Sage Avenue Baptist Church and also a member of the Murphy High School 39ers. She is preceded in death by her first spouse Charles LaBaron Byrd, her second spouse Ned Hagood Baggett, grandson Gordon Eugene Byrd, father Chester Arthur Lewis, mother Agnes Cooper Lewis and her siblings: Regina Faggard, Katie Lewis, Lillian Lewis and Arthur Lewis. She is survived by her children: Charles LaBaron (Judy) Byrd, Jr., Carolyn Suzanne (Phillip) Saviak, Nelda Rosalie Baggett (Bud) Lasker, Ned Wayne (Gayle) Baggett and Donna Jean Baggett (Edward) Mallon, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. There will be a visitation at Pine Crest Funeral Home from 10:00am-12:00pm on Saturday April 4, 2015 with a 12:00 service from the Chapel. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Judes Research Hospital.
