Ethel L. Crotzer (nee Morgan), 86, of Jacksonville, Ark., died Saturday, April 3, 2010, in her home. She was born May 21, 1923. Mrs. Crotzer, who most knew as "Granny Crotzer," was a long-time member of the Living Church of God. She was very strong in her beliefs, dearly loved God and her family, and was loved by her family and many friends. Her parents (the Morgans) were amongst the first families to join the Dyess Colony, a government farming project instituted in northeast Arkansas during the Great Depression. Granny had many fond memories of her life at the Dyess Colony during the 1930’s. Granny was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee A. Wilcoxson, and her second husband, Calvin A. Crotzer; parents, Ofies and Alma (nee Jones) Morgan; a daughter, Ruth Beers (nee Wilcoxson); a grandson, Mark Edward Beers; three brothers, William Morgan, Elton Morgan and Clarence Morgan; and three sisters, Reba Fowler (nee Morgan), Myrtle Williams (nee Morgan) and Thelma Morgan. Granny is survived by eight children, Katherine Norfleet (nee Wilcoxson) of Sherwood, Ark., Gerald Wilcoxson of Jacksonville, Ark., Ronnie (Jeannie) Wilcoxson of Cabot, Ark., Sharon (Kenneth) Staggs (nee Wilcoxson) of Sherwood, Ark., Carter Wilcoxson of Lompoc, Calif., Philip (Patti Jo) Wilcoxson of Lee Summit, Mo., Felicia Kerr (nee Crotzer) of Sherwood, Ark., and Peggy Crotzer of Sherwood, Ark.; three brothers, Quinton Morgan of Morrilton, Ark., Delton (Mary) Morgan of South Gate, Calif., and Lemly (Virginia) Morgan of Kansas City, Kan.; 27 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and, seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, North Little Rock, Ark. Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Memorial Park.
