Ethel Huseland Mulligan

Brick - Ethel Huseland Mulligan, 89, of Brick, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving and dedicated family, on Friday, April 27, 2018.

She was born, March 9, 1929 in Hoboken to the late Ethel and Charles Huseland. She was raised in Jersey City and graduated from Dickinson High School, where she met the love of her life, Lawrence F. Mulligan and were married on Mother's Day, 1950. They lived in Secaucus and moved to Brick in 1953.

Ethel was a long time member of the Brick Presbyterian Church and a life member of the Breton Woods Fire Company, Ladies Auxiliary.

She instilled her love of animals in her children and always told them to look for the good in everyone. She had a great sense of humor and a kind, generous heart. Memories of Ethel will be forever cherished by those who loved her. Affectionately called, "MiMi" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she leaves a chain of love that will never be broken.

Ethel was predeceased by her beloved husband, of over fifty-seven years, Lawrence F. Mulligan in 2008; her infant daughter in 1956; and sister, Gloria Feuerbach in 2015.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her four children, Kathleen Mulligan and husband Paul Kemp of Ukiah, CA, Patricia Schroeder and husband Jeff of Point Pleasant, Larry Mulligan and wife Cheryl of Brick, and Lorraine Johnson and husband Ray of Brick. Also surviving are her sister, Marjorie Henderson and husband Bill; eight loving grandchildren, Rachael Curnow and husband DJ, Meagan Majeski and husband John, Ian, Erin, and Connor Mulligan, and Raymond, Kevin, and Lauren Johnson; and six great-grandchildren, Leah, Sean, and Evan Curnow and Johnny, Wyatt, and Maelle Majeski.

Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m., Monday, April 30 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, a service will be held at the Brick Presbyterian Church, 111 Drum Point Road, Brick. Interment will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband and dear parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory to either the Breton Wood Fire Company, 665 Mantoloking Road, Brick, NJ 08723 or to any animal shelter, would be deeply appreciated.

The family would like to thank her caregiver at the end, Charmaine Lawrence and Ray Bruker for his devoted friendship and compassion.

"Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that's how I will remember you."
