OCONNELL Ethel M. OConnell Owned beauty shops, formerly of West Orange, 89 Mrs. Ethel M. OConnell, 89, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of West Orange, died in Bradenton, Fla., on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mount Pleasant Ave., Livingston, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Mass will celebrate Mrs. OConnells life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, at St. Josephs Church, West Orange. The interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Born in Newark, Mrs. OConnell lived in West Orange until 1987, when she moved to St. Petersburg. She owned and operated beauty shops in Montclair and West Orange. Mrs. OConnell was a member of the St. Josephs R.C. Church Rosary Society for many years and an avid bridge and Scrabble player. She was the beloved wife of 55 years to the late William G. OConnell Sr.; the loving mother of Jeffrey OConnell of Bradenton, Fla., Mimi OConnell of Flemington, the late Patricia A. Walsh and the late William G. OConnell Jr.; the cherished grandmother of Jeffrey, Beau, Sean, Carrine, Tara and Will, and loving great-grandmother of Lenny, Lea and Abigal.
