ETTA FERRI (BLACKBURN) Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 19, 2025.
Etta Sylvia "Tucky" Ferri, 92, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, in Wallingford, Connecticut

Born on September 21, 1932, in Chester, VT, Etta was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose presence brought warmth and light to all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she has gone to be with Our Lord in His Kingdom.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Voilette M. Stroll; Deborah A. Freedman; Robin L. D'Eramo; Levi L. Stroll; and Louis A. Ferri, Jr. Each of them carries cherished memories of their mother's strength and grace.

Voilette shares that "my dear and beautiful mother is now joyous in Paradise and I send her all of my love".

Deborah remembers how proud she always was of her mom: "I remember as a child when my friends would meet her, they always commented on how young and beautiful she was! And she truly was. When I was sick in bed with whooping cough, she rarely left my side. Rest in Peace, Mom. Your job is done and you did it very well!"

Her daughter, Robin, says "the day she was born she was blessed with a precious, loving, kind gift that lasted 70 years of my life, my mother. Mom, you will always be in my heart and I love you."

Levi recalls his final conversation with his mother: "In my last conversation with my mom 'Myron,' she was worrying about me when she was only hours from passing herself. I told her I was and would be fine. Always my Mom, no matter what."

Her son, Louis, said that she was his best friend and that she was the most beautiful woman inside and out. She had an aura that shined like the sun. Now the sun has set.

Etta was predeceased by her devoted husband, Louis A. Ferri, Sr., as well as her siblings Kenneth, Edwin, Ruby, Ellen, and Sally. Their memories live on through the stories and love shared by those who remain.

Etta also leaves behind eight grandchildren-Dr. Robert J. Kubick Jr., Christopher A. Kubick, John M. Stroll, Michael P. D'Eramo, Trent J. D'Eramo, January M. Violette, Justin D. Stroll, and Louis G. Ferri-as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will continue to honor her memory.

At Etta's request, there will be no services.

Her family mourns the loss of a remarkable woman whose love shaped generations-and celebrates a life lived with quiet strength and enduring beauty.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.

A few photos of my grandmother from her last 2 trips out west in 2018/2019. We always had a great time with her and she loved taking long walks on her own at the young age of 86 throughout the desert neighborhoods in our area. She will surely missed!

Gram,

I just want to thank you for all the memories I will always cherish when thinking about the times we spent together and the long talks on the phone. You always apologized for how long you would talk and how many times you said goodbye but then kept talking, but I just wanted to hear you keep going some more anyways. Now I wish I could hear your voice again, and will forever miss every hug, every kiss hello and goodbye, and of course every conversation. I know you are with the Lord and no longer suffering like you were, and while I will always miss you and think about you, I feel some peace knowing you are relieved of the pain from the past few months. I want to thank you for all you did for me in my life, the happiness and joy you always brought whenever you were with me or just crossed my mind. But most of all thank you for giving me your greatest strength, your eternal optimism, that you not only spoke of, but lived by every day, even when things were the hardest they could get for you. Your strength, your love and your selflessness will always be with me and I look forward to the day we see each other again. I love you Gram, rest in peace.
