Jean Shiltz-Neavor Obituary

Jean T. Shiltz-Neavor, 56, of Davenport, died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 4:00 pm at The Runge Mortuary.

Jean fought a long and brave fight with cancer. She was born July 15, 1953 in Greenock, Scotland where she met and married her first husband, Robert Lee Shiltz on May 14, 1970; he preceded her in death on March 25, 2003. She moved to America in 1973 where she was a wife, mother and homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed and loved her family more than anything, especially her grandchildren. She later married Scott Neavor on August 5, 2006; he died September 21, 2007. Besides loving her family, Jean enjoyed fishing and every chance she could, she would take any willing family member, mostly her grandchildren fishing. She had worked as a Restorative Nurse's Aide at the Kahl Home.


Those left to honor her memory include her children, daughter, Ruth and husband, Tim, Maquoketa, IA, sons: Tom and wife, Jackie, Davenport, Steven and wife Amanda, Davenport, grandchildren: Tony, Katie, Shelby, Chase, Anna and Drew, brother, Eddie and wife, Rose of Scotland, brothers in law, Paul and wife, Kathy, Davenport, Carrol and wife, Donna, Bettendorf, sister in law, Karen and husband, Drew, Nebraska and many nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Tylee, brother Tam Tylee and her sister, Isobell Christen. Jean was loved by all and will be missed and remembered by many.
