Eugene Everett Brown, known fondly as Gene, passed away on October 24, 2024, in Covington, IN, at the age of 98. Born on May 30, 1926, in Robinson, IL, he led a full life marked by service, both in his career and in the military.

Eugene honorably served in the United States Navy, dedicating his life to the service of his country. His commitment to duty reflected the steadfast values he carried into his civilian life. After his military service, Eugene met Mary and he fell in love immediately. After marriage together they were blessed with 7 children. To support his family in the difficult times Eugene embarked on a career spanning over two decades at Mervis Foundary and also worked locally cutting trees the old fashioned way. Eugene showcased his versatility and strong work ethic by never complaining and always being thankful for what he had. Eugene loved Jesus and read the Bible daily. He shared his knowledge and visions of the lord patiently waiting to be reunited.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jennings & Lillie Brown, his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth Brown, brothers Raymond, Charles, Robert, sister Vivian, granddaughter Lisa Murphy and great-granddaughter Rian Wesley. His legacy continues through his children: Shirley Murphy, Diane Brown, Connie Brown, Ruth Montez, Mike Brown, John Brown, and Mary Crews, who will cherish his memory and uphold his values.

A memorial service will be held graveside, with a memorial celebration to be announced at a later date. Kruger Coan Funeral Home in Danville, IL, is assisting the family during this time.
