Eugene was brilliant, kind, generous, caring, a loyal close friend, a wonderful father, and a beautiful person who blessed my life, and lives of so many others. The world will never see another Eugene Emerson Eubanks, PhD. Gene left a living legacy of which I am sure that he is very proud. Thank you for giving your all to so many who could not understand or appreciate your magnificance and your unselfish gifts. You did indeed make this world a better place.

Dr.Eubanks and I were colleagues at the University of Delaware during his tenure there. His wife Audrey and my wife were friends. I admired his intellect and we will miss him dearly.

I met Dr. Eubanks during his tenure as master of our school district, Rockford School District#205. He was an engaging man whose upmost concern was for the education of all children. Recently, I learned of his departure from the physical realm. What a loss! I am blessed for having known and worked with him.

Dr. Eugene "Gene" Eubanks was a fine American. He loved his family and he loved his friends. I learned alot from him, enough to fill volumes.
He served his country, the African American community and his family with the kind of faithfulness that we all can admire.
I will never say I will miss him, because he remains with us all forever.

I am very sad to learn of the passing of my friend Dr. Eugene E. Eubanks. He was a wonderful human being, a distinguished educator, an outstanding scholar committed to truth and justice.Gene was an important member of my board when I served as president of the National Alliance of Black School Educators. I could always count on his support. Some years later I invited Gene to be a member of the NABSE Task Force on HIV/AIDS. He worked with enthusiasm as a member of the Task Force.
I will miss Dr. Eugene E. Eubanks very much.

I read of Gene's passing with great sadness. He was my colleague in AACTE and I considered him a friend. He was indeed a hero, committed throughout his professional life and beyond to equal education for all. Many of us say that--Gene acted on it with all his energy and exceptional mind. He is missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Eubanks in Kansas City and in Rockford from 1994 to 1998. He was an extraordinary educator, mentor and friend. The lives of thousands of children were enhanced and enriched though his dedication and commitment. May I extend condolences to his family - and my thanks for sharing him with all the people whose lives are better for having known him. Blessings

What a loss for our community..... I worked for and with Dr. Eubanks during the Desegregation Monitoring Committee days. I learned so much from him. I am grateful for his time in my life. Holding his family in prayer this week...

I was blessed to have Dr. Eubanks as a professor at UMKC while working on my school administration degree. He was an inspiration and provided living history lessons. He was something "right" in the KCMO school district.

I first met Dr. Eubanks while attending the First National Conference on Urban Education at the Weston Crown Center Hotel in Kansas City. He was still residing in Pennsylvania at the time. He was presenting a paper at the conference and I was a first year teacher taking in the conference to see what I might learn. He was kind enough to not only answer my questions but took the time after the presentation to engage me in conversation. Later that year, when I began graduate school, we met again when I was registering for classes at UMKC. By then, he had relocated to Kansas City and had taken a position as Assistant Dean of the School of Education. From the first time I met him, I have always remembered him as a friendly, approachable, and resourceful professional. My prayers are with his family.
