I knew Stephen and Eugene aswell. They were truly close to me as friends. Im dreadfully sorry for everything that happened. :(
We had out good times and then our bad, but NO matter what goes on NO matter the time that passes, they will always be in our hearts :)

Dear Eugene, Barbara and Stephen and family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I just don't know what to say...we all grew up together (in our 20's we were still "growing up"). We had our children around the same time...Eugene was a beautiful, happy and bright boy. I hurt for you. My wish for all of you is to find the strength in each other and God to move forward in this life and look forward to the afterlife. Always cherish the time you had with Eugene...his life goes on in all of the special memories we hold onto.

No words can express the loss that occurred on that dreadful evening, a loved one to all that knew him was lost. Eugene will always hold a special part in everyone's heart who knew him. It was impossible for him to meet someone without touching them one way or another, he was a person who was able to brighten anyone's day, if not life. God bless you in this time of pain.

Your wonderful family has touched more lives then you could possibly know. 39 years ago at Slocum Eugene Sr.'s artistic talent was so incredible it opened my eyes and changed how I approached teaching children art; I realized they actually taught me. 27 years later teaching the next generation of Franjolas was once again pure joy. Eugene Jr. was a hoot and pleasure: freckles and glasses, funny and silly, but always kind and respectful, he had such a generous nature. He also had great pride in his family, he told me once "My Dad works 24/7" a little boast of familial pride. He will be remembered as yet another gift to me from the Franjolas. I am so honored and blessed to have known and been inspired by your family. Eugene lives in my heart and this weekend it was broken along with so many others. My prayers and thoughts are with you. Through the tears as I think of Eugene I have to smile. He was that kind of kid. He made you happy you knew him.
