Eugene Kiluk Obituary

NEW BEDFORD — Eugene Frank Kiluk, 91, of New Bedford, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Monday, January 12, 2009, at the Hathaway Manor. He was the husband of Helen (Bralewski) Kiluk; they were married 67 years.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late Julian and Anna (Kulpak) Kiluk, he lived in this area all his life. He worked as a loom fixer for the textile industry until his retirement.

Eugene proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, aboard the USS Dempsey in World War II as a fireman first class, and was a member of the Polish American World War Veterans. He was a volunteer fireman for the town of Dartmouth.

Survivors include his wife; 2 daughters, Janice Joubert and her husband, Arthur of Lakeville, and Nancy Nadeau and her husband, Roger of Acushnet; 5 grandchildren, Patricia Cioper, John Nadeau, Lisa Nadeau-Pounds, Michael Joubert, and A. Joseph Joubert; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was the brother of the late Charlie Kiluk, Stanley Kiluk, Edwin Kiluk, and Alexandra Deptula.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9 A.M., in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, New Bedford followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, 4 — 7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eugene's memory may be made to Southcoast Homecare, Hospice and Infusion Services, 200 Mill Rd., Fairhaven, MA 02719, or to OLPH Memorial Fund, 235 North Front St., New Bedford, MA 02746.

Arrangements are by Machnowski - Schick Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford.
