Eugene "Gene" Gerard Miltner, 76, passed away on September 1, 2024, in Bartlett, TN. Born on September 9, 1947, Gene dedicated four years of his life to serving in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970, where he learned the HVAC trade that defined his career.

Gene is survived by his wife of 32 years, Deb Miltner, of Bartlett, TN. He leaves behind his children, Dana (Steve) Martin of Bellevue, NE, and Chad Miltner of Omaha, NE; stepchildren, Melissa (Ty) Blakeman Randall of Bartlett, TN, and Jessica Blakeman of Memphis, TN. His grandchildren, Micah Reeves, Mackenzie Miltner, Jacob Blakeman, Colin Nelsen, Olivia Martin, Darian Combs, and Ava Martin. He also leaves behind siblings Johanna (David) White-Soderstrom, Gary Miltner, Brian Miltner, Christine Felchlin, Dennis (Judy) Miltner, and Terrence (Mona) Miltner, along with many nephews, nieces, family, and friends.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene R. and Ellen T. Miltner (Colreavy), his brother Michael, his sister Theresa, and brother-in-law Mark Felchlin.

Beyond his military service and professional life, Gene was passionately involved in various community activities. He was a drummer in the Marine Corps Pipes and Drums, a volunteer firefighter in many different areas of the country most notably Elkhorn, NE and Bartlett, TN, he was a firefighter instructor for the state of Nebraska, and an active member of the American Legion. His commitment to service was further exemplified through his involvement with Forever Young and Wounded Warriors. Gene had a beautiful voice and actively participated in the choir at his churches throughout his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Gene on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at International Harvester Managerial Park, 4523 Canada Rd, Lakeland, TN 38002 from 12: 00 pm to 3:00 pm.

His life was marked by his service to his country, his community, and his family and friends. Gene's lasting impact will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
