Eugene "Geno" Pagliari, 89, of New Kensington, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born June 10, 1925, in New Kensington, to the late Luigi and Elizabeth Naviglia Pagliari. He lived all his life the local area. He was a barber at Jimmy's Barber Shop for 67 years. Eugene was a World War II veteran, having served with the Navy, and served on the USS Bridge. He was a member of Janes United Methodist Church and served as an usher, served with the New Kensington Fire Company for 60 years and as a life member of VFW Post 92. He played on the Penn Hills Senior softball league until two years ago. He was an active member of the YMCA, New Kensington Center for active adults, where he played pool. Geno liked to dabble in magic tricks. He loved life and everyone he met along the way. Survivors include his daughters, Jannene (John) Kustra, of Lower Burrell, and Barbara (Richard) Hamilton, of Pleasant Hills; granddaughter, Krista Steffey; and great-grandsons, Michael and Cameron Steffey. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maryetta (Rhodes) Pagliari, siblings, Sue Santia, Daisy Kelley, Rose Carabin and James Pagliari. Family and friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOMES, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder St., where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Jerry Pawloski and assisted by the Rev. Kathleen Schoeneck. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Arnold. www.rusiewiczfh.com.
