Louisville - 94 died Thursday, December 27th. Eugenia was born October 10, 1924 in Parsons, Kansas to Eugene and Mary Davenport. She grew up in Louisville and at age 18, married Charles Braun in 1942. They were married for 62 years and had two children.

Eugenia was a homemaker who went back to work after her children were grown. She retired from Baptist Hospital East after more than 10 years of service. She was a former member of Salem United Church of Christ. She loved her garden, children and grandchildren and they loved her very much.

Eugenia was predeceased by her husband, Charles; her parents; sister, Florence Lockard; brother, Robert Davenport and her grandson-in-law, Danny Glaab.

She is survived by her son, Keith Braun (Anne); daughter, Pamela Phillips; grandchildren, Heather Clary (Bill), Hilary Braun (Sam Shields), Holly Glaab, Daniel Phillips (Amy) and great-grandchild, Justin McKenzie.

Eugenia's funeral service will be private with a private burial. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 PM on Sunday, December 30 at Highland Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.

The family would like to thank the staff at Seneca Place and Hosparus for their care of Eugenia. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to either Hosparus or WHAS Crusade for Children.

On behalf of the WHAS Crusade for Children, we are sorry for your loss. It is people like Jean who have made it possible for the Crusade to help children with special needs for over 65 years. Thank you for honoring her memory by remembering the WHAS Crusade for Children. Her legacy will be seen for years to come through the lives of children who are helped. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
