Eugenia ROMANCHUK Obituary
It is with deep sadness that the family of Eugenia (Jenny) Romanchuk announce her peaceful passing on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the age of 98 years. Eugenia was born in the hamlet of Hamlin, AB on May 18, 1918 and spent most of her adult life in Spedden, AB with her husband, Harry and their seven children. Eugenia had a 37 year distinguished career as Postmistress of the Spedden Post Office and was very active in the community and the Spedden Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church. She spent the last two years in the Smoky Lake Health Care Centre where she received exceptional care.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Peter (Diane) Romanchuk, Hallia Romanchuk, Ann (Don) Keech, Cathie (Gordon) Gordey, Iris (Del) Huchulak, Walter Romanchuk, and Darlene (Dan) LaBerge; brother, John (Helen) Panas; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Panas, and Vi Romanchuk; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Harry in 1997; brothers, Nick Panas and Mike Panas; sisters, Alexandra Romanchuk and Martha David; and granddaughter, Gabrielle Gordey.
"Baba's house (Auntie Jenny's) was always central for family gatherings and the many visitors who dropped by.
Prayer Service Wednesday, August 31 at 7:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton.
Funeral Rite Thursday, September 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Spedden with Reverend Father Benny Ambrosie officiating. Interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, c/o Box 98, Spedden, AB T0A 3E0.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. "Mrs. Romanchuk" will always be remembered for her warm smile, and great friendly personality by our entire family. I spent many hours with her and my mother at the post office "talking" and the kids looked forward to visiting her anytime they were on vacation at Spedden. She was a special lady.
