On October 18, 1921, a baby girl was born to Ralph Brixey and Eula Munson in Marshfield, Webster County, Missouri. The name given her was Eula Jane Brixey. At the age of sixteen, she married Alvin Ellsworth Slentz of Marshfield, Missouri. Their happy union brought four children spaced two years apart then the fifth child after four years. Jane loved her husband and her children, devoting her time to them until circumstances dictated she become a country store gas station owner and operator. During those years, Alvin was battling the terminal illness Addison's disease. Jane also supported Alvin in his ministry as an elder in the Walnut Hill Church of Christ, often entertaining twenty people for lunch on Sundays. After 10 years of widowhood, Jane met and married Clay Tillman and moved joyfully to his beautiful farm in Rogersville, Missouri. She continued in her love and devotion to her children and grandchildren, cooking, gardening and sewing. Jane also went to work for General Electric in Springfield, Missouri, retiring several years later with a pension. Alzheimer's disease overtook her in March of 1999. Jane had to give up driving and living alone. She moved to Chandler, Arizona, living most of her remaining years in Village Oaks Assisted Living Facility. Jane passed gently on to her next life April 28, 2007, at 6:50 p.m. She is survived by her loving family of five children, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Survivors include five children, 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Children include William A. Slentz and wife Carolyn, Eddy, Texas, Jack L. Slentz and wife Georgia, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, John R. Slentz, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Raymond E. Slentz and wife, Tammie, Highlandville, Missouri; her daughter, Judth K. Slentz and husband, George Butler Chandler, Arizona; grandchildren, Dr. Stacey Perry, Seattle Washington, Casey Slentz, Springfield, Missouri, Jane Ann Haninger and husband, Dave, Oceanside, California, Billy Slentz, Moody, Texas, Jeffrey Slentz and wife, Judy, Eddy, Texas, Rebecca Slentz, Harker Heights, Texas, Michael Slentz and wife, Michelle, San Diego, California, Sean Slentz and wife, Michelle, Encinitas, California, Tammie Medina and her husband, Mark, Tyler, Texas, Jack Slentz and his wife, Carla, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Amy Wooldridge and her husband Lance, Franklin, Tennessee, and Beth Slentz, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Katherine Hartley, Tyler, Texas, Daniel Medina and Michael Medina, both of Dallas, Texas, Nicholas Medina, of San Antonio, Texas, Daniela Slentz and Alejandra Slentz, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Madeline Wooldrige, Jesse Wooldridge, & Milaya Wooldrige, all of Franklin, Tennessee, Natalie Andrews, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jordan Slentz, McGregor, Texas, Jenna Slentz, Eddy, Texas, Jade Slentz, Eddy, Texas, Isabelle Slentz, San Diego, CA and Zoe Slentz, Encinitas, California, Kane Slentz and Kierstyn, Slentz, Springfield, Missouri. Services will be held in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 3. Burial will follow in Marshfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. this evening in the funeral home.
