Eutropio "Trophy" Moya Simeon

October 30th, 1961 - July 28th, 2025

Trophy was born in the Philippines in Quezon City to Simon and Honorata Simeon. He was the fourth of five children.

Trophy immigrated with his parents and all his siblings in 1971 and moved to Chicago, IL. He married Barbara Ward in 1990. He and Barb followed God's leading to homeschool their four children through high school, instilling a love of learning and family service.

Though he went to school to become a respiratory therapist, he later changed careers to become a chef because he loved to "feed the world." Some of "the world" that he fed included presidents, mayors, Yo-yo Ma, mission school students, rock stars, ball players, and (no joke) The Crown Prince of Bahrain. He may or may not be responsible for Jack Nicholson's steam burns while he was studying for a role. However his favorites were feeding people on camping trips, tailgating at conferences, cooking for church events, weddings, birthdays and other celebrations, and providing hospitality in his home.

He loved classic "dad rock," volleyball, and camping, but most of all His Lord and his family.

He was a long-time member of First Christian Church of Chicago, then Christian Heritage Church of Orland Park, and most recently Faith Church of Lafayette.

Trophy spent the last few years living in small town Indiana.

On July 28th, 2025, the Lord called Trophy Simeon into His presence and His eternal home. He is now surrounded by his family who have gone before him and is experiencing unspeakable joy, without pain or disease.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 2nd at 3:30PM at Westbrook Christian Church in Bolingbrook, IL (1175 Lily Cache Ln, Bolingbrook, IL). (Interment will be private.)

Trophy is preceded in death by his father Simon, his mother Honorata, and his sister Minerva.

He is survived by his wife Barb, children Gabriel, Katie, Jake, and Noah, brother Rando (Daisy Sumatra), sister Cris (Rob Williams), brother Cezar, many nieces and nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Joni & Friends (joniandfriends.org).
