Eve Creary Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 19, 2024.
Eve Marie Creary, aged 64, of White Plains, NY, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2024, in The Bronx, NY. Born on December 20, 1959, also in The Bronx, she was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and educator who led a life marked by dedication, kindness, and integrity.

Eve was the beloved fifth child of ten in the Creary family. She embraced her role within the family with devotion, often acting as a guiding figure to her younger siblings. Her professional life was characterized by a series of distinguished roles, ranging from radio and TV production to becoming a personal trainer, a certified pastry chef trained in France, a children's book author, and ultimately, a devoted teacher on Manhattan's Upper East side. Her unwavering commitment to her students and her adeptness at navigating the complexities of parental interactions earned her deep respect and admiration.

Despite facing health challenges that necessitated an early retirement, Eve continued to engage with life fully, traveling and volunteering on the Island of St. John to aid in the restoration of the national park, demonstrating her love for nature and community service.

Eve is survived by her loving mother, Audrey M. Creary, her siblings Marianne E. O'Loughlin, Kenneth J. Creary (Lauren States), Joseph P. Creary (Christine Robinson), Martin L. Creary (Terry Picucci), Nicholas M. Creary, Regina J. Molinelli (Michael), and Christin H. Creary. She also leaves behind a legacy of 20 nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Preceding her in death were her beloved father, Herman J. Creary, sister Rose M. Sharp (David), and brother Michael C. Creary.

Eve's educational journey was rooted in strong values and a pursuit of knowledge, beginning at Saints John and Mary Elementary School in Chappaqua, NY, continuing at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, NY, and culminating at Saint Bonaventure University in Allegheny, NY.

An avid traveler with a passion for the arts, Eve lived a life rich with cultural experiences and personal growth. To honor her wishes, a party celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Nonna Carolla Restaurant at 211 Mamaroneck Avenue in Mamaroneck, NY, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. https://nonnacarola.com

In keeping with Eve's spirit of giving, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, to support the fight against cancer and continue Eve's legacy of helping others. https://giving.mskcc.org

Eve Marie Creary's life was one of purpose, love, and enduring impact. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her as a pillar of strength, a source of wisdom, and a beacon of light in her community. May she rejoice with God, His angels, and His saints now and forever.

Watching Eve run the NYC marathon (Nov 2022) with our family (including our baby Aubrie, she looked stronger than ever. Eve is such a beautiful kind soul who even stopped "in transit" while running during the marathon to take a photo with Aubrie as she said "Aubrie I am so glad to finally meet you!" Eve was my eldest daughter´s 5th grade teacher and also if not for her, SB never would have been where she is today (Eve encouraged SB to take dance, serve as "chief justice"- during the Constitution works project. She also devoted so much time/love/energy into her pastry cooking class which both SB and LB were blessed to be a part of.

THERE IS nOT enough space to write all the beautiful memories we have with Eve. Eve will forever serve as our "teacher, coach" and her spirit will eternally be present in our Thank you Eve for everything
With deepest sympathy to her family.
Love
The Comerchero/Basen family (SB & LB

Ms. Creary was my 5th grade teacher at PS 50 up in East Harlem. I remember she introduced our class to our very first "secret Santa" she showed us photos of her trips around the world, I distinctly remember her photos of the Pyramids in Egypt. I was always in awe of all the things she got to see. I remember her telling us about her book she wrote .. I´m sad to hear she has passed but find peace in knowing she was surrounded by love in life. Thank you for everything you´ve taught me Ms Creary. Rest in Peace

We met Eve at Ken and Lauren's. It was always a pleasure to see Eve and to taste whatever delicious pastry she had prepared. I remember when Eve was traveling overseas to help build housing in an impoverished area. Our block party collected a small donation for her trip. Eve lived her life to the fullest.

With all our love and sympathy, Helen & Alan Runck

Her bright smile was the first thing I noticed. Eve and I went to exhibits and share many wonderful talk about art, travel and life in general.
She was not very good at math (sorry) and when she made a mistake she used to say to her students that it was to see who paid attention ;).
Eve was a wonderful person, she touched many children and parents alike. We will all remember "mise en place" organization is key.
She really was a jack of all trade and that made class fun and interesting. She never shy away from hard topic.
We practice our French and got many laughs at various difference with both languages.
I will remember her bright eyes full of curiosity and her contagious smile.
