Evelyn Marie Cole

Evelyn Marie Cole (née Walsh), of Secane, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, at the age of 77.

Born on August 23,1948, in Philadelphia, Evelyn was the daughter of John and Evelyn Walsh (Minehart). She spent her life rooted in Grays Ferry where she built a legacy of love and resilience that touched all who knew her.

Evelyn was first married to Mickey Barnes, with whom she lovingly raised their sons, Michael and Scott Barnes. Both Mickey and Michael preceded her in death.

Evelyn found lasting companionship and happiness with her best friend and husband, George Cole. Their marriage was a true partnership, filled with devotion, laughter, and the joy of bringing together their families.

Evelyn is survived by her loving husband George; son Scott Barnes and his wife Stacy; stepchildren George Cole (Heather) and Amanda Cole-Vlachos (Nick); grandchildren Aubrey Barnes, Emma Barnes, and John Terembula; sister Celie Johnson (Steve); brothers Johnny Walsh (Colleen), and Bruce Walsh (Anita). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn's life was marked by enduring family bonds. Her warmth extended across generations-from siblings to grandchildren-leaving behind cherished memories that will be held close by those who loved her.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A visitation and memorial service will be held on September 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Springfield Country Club with a reception immediately following.
