My Great Aunt,
A woman that I will remember for her many great talents. She has left this world a more beautiful place with all her artistic paintings, ceramics, and needlework. She will be remembered for her sharp mind, warm heart, and magnificent artwork, as well as for her inspirational strength and friendship.
I love you Aunt Evelyn and you will always be in my heart.

My Aunt and Godmother,
As a child, Aunt Evelyn was the sickliest of my grandmother's seven surviving children out of twelve. She long outlived her siblings.
As a young woman she worked in a mill to help out the family and later support her widowed mother and younger sister (my mother). She also had two somewhat serious surgeries in her late 20's and early 30's.
In middle age she married Bernard Dupont, left her New England home and lived a much more settled life in Tecumseh. I was nine then and remember it well because I missed her. But I'm often struck by the strength of that mid-life decision.
I'm impressed by the example of strength in Aunt Evelyn's life as she lived it. And I will always think of her.
