Evelyn R. Hepburn

Evelyn R. (Vandawalker) Hepburn, 89, of Cayuga Village, Town of Niagara, NY, entered into rest on Monday, May 25, 2009 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, Niagara Falls, NY. Born on March 28, 1920 in Lancaster, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Helen (Kable) Vandawalker. On September 29, 1945, she married Ralph Hepburn. He predeceased her on March 7, 2006.Mrs. Hepburn moved to Ilion, NY at any early age with her family. Evelyn attended schools in Ilion, NY and graduated from Ilion High School in 1939. Evelyn worked as a payroll clerk for Remington Rand in Ilion, NY, and later for Carborundum Corporation in Niagara Falls, NY. She attended St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls. Evelyn was a member of St. James Senior Citizens, the Wesley Quilters and St. Paul's Quilting Group. She enjoyed quilting, crafts and volunteering her time.Mrs. Hepburn is survived by two daughters, Katherine Loverdi of Niagara Falls, NY and Barbara (Roy) Jones of Cheektowaga, NY; three grandchildren, Kelly Loverdi, Dina (Mike) (Jones) Bardsley and Roy (Jackie Kreinheder) Jones; and five great-grandchildren, Joey, Jessica, Mike, Zachary and Samantha. Evelyn is also survived by one brother, Edward (Verna) Vandawalker of Ilion, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one great-granddaughter, Leah Kreinheder; two brothers, George Vandawalker and Sylvester (late Helen) Vandawalker; and one sister, Dorothy (Richard of Mohawk, NY) Rankin.Friends may call on Thursday from 7-9 PM at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, LASALLE PARK CHAPEL, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007), where a funeral service will be held on Friday, May 29th at 10:00 AM, with Rev.
