AGES — Evelyn Crider Reynolds, 81 of Ages passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.
She was born in Ages, KY to the late Gus and Nellie Creekmore Crider. Evelyn nicknamed "Tootsie", left Harlan County at a young age to find work, being successful at different establishments in and around the Dayton, OH area, returning to the Evarts area in the mid 70's, where she owned and operated the Evelyn's Drive-In, for the next 10 or more years. She continued to work in the Food Service area, building and operating the Community Gas and Deli also in Evarts, along with her husband, Frank for the next years of her life until retirement.
She enjoyed cooking, loved her flowers, and loved to grow vegetables. She enjoyed watching and listening to the Kentucky Wildcats, Harlan Co. Blackbears, and the Harlan Green Dragons.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Reynolds; 2 brothers, Kenneth Crider and infant Cecil Crider.
She is survived by her son, Franklin (Frank) Reynolds and wife Debbie of Kenvir; granddaughter, Whitney Leigh Reynolds and her fiancé, Jonathan Creech of Totz; 5 brothers, Hubert Crider of Fairborn, OH, Jim (Barbara) Crider of Franklin, OH, Will (Linda) Crider of Cookeville, TN, Tom (Joann) Crider of Florida, and Britt (Doyce) Crider of Dayton, OH; 2 sisters, UYvonne Collier, and Phyllis (Bob) Vokovic all of Dayton, OH; 1 sister-in-law, Hope Crider of Speedwell, TN; 1 uncle Roscoe (Ross) Crider of Knoxville, TN; she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. David Napier officiating.
Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY.
