Evelyn Mae "Evie" Sandusky November 3, 1921 - August 1, 2007 Evelyn Mae "Evie" Sandusky, 85, of State College passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at the Fairways at Brookline. She was born November 3, 1921 in Manifold, the daughter of the late Earl and Blanche Lee. Six brothers preceded her in death. On July 25, 1942, she married the late Art Sandusky of Washington, Pa. Together, they ran a small business then spent the majority of their life running the Brownson House where she served as a nursery school teacher, basketball coach, and program director. Her favorite moments were participating in sports and recreational activities, taking care of other and her home, Penn State football, and entertaining family, friends, Second Mile Kids, and Special Olympians. Evelyn is survived by her son Jerry, wife Dottie, six grandchildren and their spouses, Ray and Kim Sandusky; E.J. and Maureen Sandusky; Kara and Andy Werner; Jeff and Karen Sandusky; Jon and Kia Sandusky; Matt and Jill Sandusky; nine great-grandchildren, Grace, Ryan, Shane Sandusky; Christian and Ellie Werner, Andi Sandusky; Amber Jenna and Austin Sandusky. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where she was a member, on Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at 7 p.m., with Reverend Eric Shafer. Family will receive friends following the service. The burial will be at Washington Cemetery, Washington, Pa., Wednesday, August 8, at 1:30 p.m., Dr. David Felty officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Second Mile, 1402 South Atherton St., State College, PA 16801
